Heroes, Subs, or Hoagies?

Depending on where you live, hero rolls might go by a different name. We are located in New York, so we know them are heroes. And we partner with some of the best bakeries in the greater New York City area to deliver fresh hero rolls. However, if you cross to New Jersey, this type of roll might be called a "sub." This is probably the most widely used term in the United States, actually. But then again if you go to parts of Pennsylvania and Philadelphia, then you might hear this sandwich called a "hoagie." Lastly, New Englanders have their own term and that is a "grinder."
